British Heart Foundation

April 2004
We approached the BHF for a donation to fund a projector and screen for the talks we had started doing to promote transplantation, due to the fact that this project was not solely for heart patients they agreed to part fund it. Then thanks to a mufty day at a local School - Ashford Cof E, we were able to raise enough money to purchase the two items.

January 2003
After reading a quotation by Dr Christiaan Barnard, we wanted to produce a postcard that incorporated it, as we felt it summed up transplantation perfectly.
“For a dying person transplant is not a difficult decision. If a lion chases you to a river filled with crocodiles, you will leap into the water convinced you have a chance to swim to the other side. But you would never accept such odds if there were no lion.”

This of coarse needed to be funded so we approached the British Heart Foundation (BHF), they agreed to completely fund the printing of the cards.
Cartoonist Tim Sutcliffe donated his time and drawing.
Charlie Fisher aged-9 coloured the picture.
